Safe Sex In Nicaragua

If you are planning a trip to Nicaragua, you might want to brush up on how things work. A recent study found that more than 64% of customers used condoms that had been handed out to them upon check out at local motels. It seems that the government in Nicaragua requires all motel owners to make available condoms. Condoms can either be furnished in the room or at the time in which the couple checks in for the night. In some motels there is educational material about safe sex and protecting oneself against disease and crime. Is it a good idea or an infringement?

Couples that have been together for a while use many motels, and they may not make use of a condom any time much less when they visit a motel. Granted a large market for the motel industry is for commercial use, which includes working men and women. These working men and women may not practice safe sex, and Nicaragua is trying desperately to change this world-wide phenomenon. This issue boils down to a personal opinion and whether or not individuals would feel embarrassed or ashamed as the young individual taking your money, hands out a condom. That’s sort of harsh, it is not like that we do not know that we should practice safe sex. If we wanted to practice safe sex we would!

On the other hand maybe the couple decided to stop in the motel for a quickie and did not have time to visit the local drug store. Whatever the encounter it seems that maybe Nicaragua is attempting to do a good thing but is a little bit aggressive about it. Maybe a better idea is to have a vending machine in which the condoms and other sexual enhancements could be sold at very cheap prices. This could possibly achieve the same results but stay off the toes of the visitors.

What I want to know is how they know if the couple actually benefited from the free condom or not. Do they search the room and trash after they left, or catch them outside and ask? Either way it seems a bit snoopy, if you ask me. Many people would be reluctant to answer or stand face to face with a researcher because they may be somewhere that they are not suppose to! While this does seem like a good idea there are many issues that could present problems if this idea was taken on world-wide.
